Permanent Residence - Eligibility

If you continuously reside in Korea for three years after acquiring a residency visa and meet the criteria of the 'points-based system,' where you earn points based on factors such as:

• Educational qualifications
• Research experience
• Research results
• Korean language proficiency
• Residence in non-metropolitan areas

Bonus Points: If you currently live in a non-metropolitan area or a designated Depopulation Region, you will receive bonus points.

Permanent Residency Visa for High-Potential Talents in Science and Technology (F-5-S1)

Eligibility

• F-2-7S and F-2-7* visa holders

Since February 10, 2023, F-2-7 visa holders have become eligible to take part in the fast-track program.

Requirements

• Have resided continuously in Korea for at least three years.
• Determined to be qualified through the points-based system (scored at least 90 out of a total of 200 points).
